A lot of erotic novels are adequate but forgettable, and the vast majority feature yet another innocent young girlish thang discovering how much she loves being spanked. This one scores points for being unashamedly about fem dom, with the central character being a deeply submissive male who dreams of the perfect mistress. Naturally, he finds her and I'm probably not giving away too major a plot twist by hinting that just maybe he ends up her perfect slave. It's a fairly simple story, but fleshed out with enough backstory and multiple viewpoints to stop it feeling too slight, and there are plenty of little nods to the real London BDSM scene that will make anyone who does kink for real grin in recognition. What really makes this book worth reading, though, is the passionate conviction of the writing; the author comes across as thoroughly understanding lifestyle BDSM and makes his characters come across as fully human, engaged with each other and possessed of some sort of inner life, rather than a collection of orifices, appendages and leather. Well worth a read.

Plenty of FemDom/Malesub action. Even some Femsub action. Unrealistic in parts in that the severe beatings received by Paul never show him injured and he is always erect, dripping and ready for action the next day.
