5.0 out of 5 stars THIS IS CLASS 3 May 2001
Format:Audio CD
All i can think of is, why am i the only person who has written a review for this CD?!! I can only imagine that you have not heard of this band yet. They are a bit like Ash and Feeder in style and the songs are very good, i don't think there is one that would get below a 4 star rating. This is by far the best CD i have bought for about 4 years and I will be keeping an eye out for future albums.<P I feel that this band really will become massive it is just a matter of time. This album just backs up my original view because there are plenty of different styles within the album and it is the way bands can vary their material that makes them successful, as these bands will always be fresh to the consumer. The Rosenbergs are definately one of these bands.

4.0 out of 5 stars good music, catchy melodies but nothing special 17 Oct 2001
Format:Audio CD
this is a cd i was looking forward to buying but i was a little disappointed when i finally listened to it. with four stars i am being a little generous. the rosenbergs are from new york and their music is very similar to the likes of fountains of wayne, catchy melodies, nice harmonies etc. if you like FOW then you'll probably like this bunch. a good album but i cant see the rosenbergs earning international stardom

4.0 out of 5 stars Great pop rock tunes 23 Mar 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
A nice find - a mix of sugary power pop tunes in the vein of Fountains of Wayne and Teenage Fanclub. At points I thought their lyrics lacked a bit of integrity and depth but the guitar crunch and melody of tunes like 'Soaked in Polyester' make up for it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Catchy poprock doesnt get much better! 1 Sep 2009
Format:Audio CD
The Rosenbergs made waves in the early 00's, with a much publicised deal with Napster to distribute their music free of charge. This was followed by the production of Missing: You in a two CD pack, with a CD to give to your friends. If your friends wern't fans of The Rosenbergs, they very well might be after hearing the CD.

Because quite simply, the CD is jam packed with catchy poprock all with musical talent aplenty. Highlights include After All, Paper and Plastic and, top of them all, In Pursuit.

But not only are the songs catchy, there is genuine music on the CD too, with Overboard being the perfect example.

Dont expect a CD that is going to set the world on fire, you wont hear these songs on the radio but thats part of the appeal, a band that few have heard but those who have enjoy immensely. Mission: You is a worthy addition to any CD collection.

4.0 out of 5 stars Check it out before the kids do... 20 Mar 2001
By spiral_mind - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
If this was another generic MTV band I'd be dismissing the Rosenbergs without a second thought, but there's more to their story. They've done tours on their own dime rather than get roped into a major label contract they'd regret. They turned down a Farmclub deal and signed with Robert Fripp's DGM label instead; a situation where they can build their own following on the quality of the music without becoming slaves to a giant soulless marketing machine. They're confident the music will win new fans, so much that each CD of the first pressing comes with an extra free copy to give away. Worthy of respect, whether you like the music or not.
The music itself? No-frills, sugary, irresistibly catchy pop, filled with killer hooks and the kind of singalong choruses you can't get out of your head. Irritating to some, lighthearted fun for others. Some occasional cringe-worthy lyrics, but they're easy to overlook: this is the kind of upbeat music you cruise to with the windows down, not examine for deep meaning. Hopefully the Rosenbergs will move on in time, but for now they're off to a good start.

4.0 out of 5 stars Impossible Not To Like 1 Mar 2001
By JW - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I normally don't listen to much straightforward pop, but this album is impossible not to like. It made me want to saw off the top of my car just so I could listen to it while cruising down the highway with the wind in my hair and the sun on my face. The lead singer has a clear voice with good range, and harmonies are used to great effect. Expansive electric guitar chords make for a very full sound, and the rhythm section keeps everything upbeat and moving. Every song on this album could be a rock single--not one bad song on the disc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Power Pop perfection 29 Jan 2002
By Bradley Foote - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
The Rosenbergs have been called the best unsigned band in America and I have no reason to doubt that. This CD has catchy hooks, strong melodies and strong vocals/harmonies. Some songs remind me of the Posies, Oasis at times, and also some of the power pop being made over in Sweden. The songs are quick and grab you right away. The last song "Overboard" is the longest of the bunch and quickly became one of my favorites of this CD and of the 2001 year. Other standouts include "Paper and Plastic", "In Pursuit", and "Secret" If you like power pop and strong vocals/harmonies you will love this CD.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just about as good as it gets 20 Feb 2001
By James Mann - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
New York's The Rosenbergs have captured a blend of muscular pop and intelligent songwriting that will make ya happy no matter if you think pop music died when Brian stopped touring with the Beach Boys, or when Cheap Trick left Budokan.
Great playing, singing and a refreshing real-world aura of darkness at times. Could become one of those bands who are both popular--and good. Check 'em out before your little sister does...

5.0 out of 5 stars Evan's Mom Rocks! 22 Feb 2001
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
These guys are amazing! (Especially the keyboard player). The album rocks, and they are an incredible band to boot. The songwriting and melodies are infectiously catchy (especially the keyboards). Everyone in the band is awesome. Except for Evan.... Long live keyboards!
