I bought this for my husband for Christmas but in the end couldn't wait that long to give it to him and cracked with five days to go! It was the right decision because this fantastic box set of the original first series will sustain him right the way through the festive season.
I had forgotten just how good these stories were. Wonderfully and cleverly crafted, they make Tom Cruise's version seem quite shallow in comparison.
A fantastic trip down memory lane and, according to my husband, the best Christmas present he's ever had!

I was in awe of this series back when it was first aired.
But I was very young, and techno-films tend to look dated and sad in today's light, best left as memories.
Not this one. It stands pretty well, some episodes are brilliant, others just plain very good. Admittedly some are boring (by the high standards of the other episodes), but this is to be expected from a TV series that has to chunk out dozens and dozens of scripts.
The DVD production is excellent, the colours are perfect.
I can't wait for the next series to come out!

This was one of my favourite TV shows in the 60's, when I was very young. Although not quite as good as S2 & 3, Series 1 is not far off.
My favourite then, and still is, Barbara Bain. I was in awe of Cinnamon Carter when I was a little girl and it is easy to see why 40 years later. She is sophisticated, smart, brave, quick witted and beautiful. Many of the TV heroines of the 60's, and even today, lack Cinammon's attributes.
Yes, the IMF succeed in their missions every time, but it is the how that kept and still keeps viewers fascinated. Enjoy the thrills.
