Product Description

Product Description

A significant and growing number of churches are using the principles of Mission Action Planning (MAP). This volume argues the case for producing a high-quality plan, describes the practical steps involved, offers real-life examples, and provides evidence of the effectiveness of the process. It is based on research conducted in several dioceses of the Church of England -- at diocesan and parish levels.

About the Author

Mike Chew has been the Business Excellence Director for Philips Lighting, and responsible for the development and implementation of the Philips global improvement strategy process, whilst also being churchwarden of an Anglican parish in Lancashire. He is currently serving as MAP and growth strategy facilitator for the Blackburn diocese. Mark Ireland was formerly diocesan missioner for the Lichfield diocese, and is now vicar of All Saints Wellington with St Catherine's Eyton. He is a member of General Synod and co-author of Evangelism - which way now? (CHP, second edition 2005) and Evangelism in a Spiritual Age (CHP, 2005).

If you are doing Mission Action Planning, or thinking about doing it, or even thinking about thinking about doing it- then grab a copy ( or 2 or 3) of this book! In this clear, inspirational book - both 'the Big Picture' ( What is MAP? How it came about/theology behind it) and the small picture - nitty gritty how to/ practical details and lessons learned along the way from those who have been there and done that before you. Easy accessible read for anyone, and plenty of inspiration to fire your vision and imagination. Not simply a good idea- a God idea! "Mission is participation in God's existence in the world" YES!

A must read for those involved in Mission Action Planning. Provides essential background and plenty of practical suggestions.
Written by two good practitioners in this field. Very much a 'how to' book.
