Book Description

17 July 2013
A couple's dream holiday turns into a living nightmare when they realise that they don't even know each other. David Telfer takes his ex-model wife Louise on a Meditteranean cruise to celebrate her recovery from serious depression. But as they sail across the high seas he begins to have doubts about her state of mind. He suspects, from her erratic behaviour, that she is hiding something from him. Indeed he believes that she may well be harbouring some dark secret. His suspicions are heightened yet further when they reach the beautiful city of Barcelona and his nightmare really begins.

More About the Author

Willie McGuire is an ex professional footballer who plied his trade in Scotland from 1975 until the early nineties. During that time he played for Airdrie, Falkirk, Partick Thistle and Dumbarton. He was also selected to play for the Scottish First Division team and was privileged to play under the late, great Jock Stein. He always liked to read and twenty years after retiring from football, he decided to do something he had always wanted to do...he wrote a novel. Not your usual ex-footballer's autobiography type of book, but a mystery thriller. He has now fulfilled his second boyhood ambition.

"IT'S NEVER TOO LATE" is one of his favourite sayings.

I bought this novel for 3 reasons (1) I like a good mystery story. (2) The Author is a former player for my local team Airdrieonians where he enjoyed cult status and (3) My nose was bothering me..................Willie McGuire as a football player was a very skillful and tricky winger. As an author he is showing the same kind of skill he showed on the football field. His book is excellently written and very well researched. I have never been to Barcelona but feel I know the place after reading this book. The plot, characters , locations etc are all very realistic and in his creation of David Telfer he has really created a persona of someone we all know or can identify with through his being an everyday working class man and not some mythical Jack Reacher like character. I could not put Willie's book down from the moment I picked it up however do not take my word for it ladies & Gentlemen, order the book and find out for yourself how gripping a story Willie's debut novel is..........................Well done William McGuire

5.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing 13 Nov 2013
Format:Paperback
Great read that was full of twists and turns from start to finish. Great characters matched with local interest, that had you on tender hooks all the way. For a debut novel, from an author not noted for this type of work, it was exceptional. Really top notch, that was particularly easy to read.
