It's an early autumn day like any other as Miles Avery drives his wife, Jacqueline, to the station. Nothing remarkable crops up in conversation, nor do either of them appear anything other than their normal selves. At the station, Jacqueline gets out, takes an overnight bag from the back seat, then turns towards the platforms. This is the last anyone sees of her.
Three weeks later, Miles calls the police. Enquiries are made, but there is no evidence of her boarding a train, or even entering the station. Very soon the finger of suspicion starts to turn towards Miles, and as dark secrets from the past begin to merge with those of the present, the great love he has been trying to protect is not only revealed but thrown into terrible jeopardy...

She just gets better!!!,

I have been reading Susan Lewis books since she first started writing and I must say that this book was one of the best Ive read. She seems to have got better the more she writes. This book is filled with believable characters that you empathise with immediately. The story and plot were fantastic and I loved this one so much I read it in a day and a half. If you've never tried reading Susan Lewis before.....start now.

Susan Lewis's best.....,

This review is from: Missing (Paperback)
This book deserves a place in any top 10 book list. It is a superbly clever and intricate story, with many twists and turns. I was gripped from the first page, and was trying to make this book last as long as possible - I couldn't bear it to end! It was exciting, funny, tender and sad, all rolled into one. A masterpiece.
This book is by far the most superior of Susan's books - a wonderful, wonderful read. Hope there is more of this type coming from this author, who has not always produced quality such as this.

Not a great read,
By Catmac "Catmac" (England) - See all my reviews

On reading the synopsis I was really keen to get into this novel. Haven't read any of her books so didn't know what to expect. I found it a little hard to get into, nothing really gripped my interest and I found the characters one dimensional. I kept on going and eventually finished but I wouldn't rush out to buy another of her books. The whole auction bit seemed irrelevant and totally boring and I felt the teenage daughter completely over the top, her tantrums and bad behaviour just a tad too unbelievable. Also I would have liked some resolution of 'the missing child' but perhaps there was one....on one of the many pages that I flipped over!
