Lost but not forgotten!,

Fascinating study of 24 works of art that have, quite simply, vanished. The text is scholarly but engaging and each example is minutely researched and beautifully illustrated. I know of no other book on this subject and wonder why it took so long for the situation to be rectified!

This is terrific: scholarly without being pedantic, detailed without being boring, complete without being wordy. It is gorgeously illustrated and printed. Flick doesn't come across as obsessive, but rather as a distanced observer decorously telling his sometimes chilling, always enthralling stories. And the storytelling is seamless.
