This is the thing....most natural hair wearers have different textures in their hair and don't even know it. My hair is much softer and has a looser curl in the back (the last 1/3 of my head) and I must say, for those who think that 4a/b/c sistas can't experience the beauty in this product, you are wrong!
This is my routine....first, my hair is about 5 inches long (short) so I wash and deep condition, get my curly pudding and pure shea butter and sit down and apply it sparingly to my hair as I do coils or twists. I air-dry, wake up the next day, uncoil or untwist and my hair is a shiny piece of moisturized art. I get so many compliments from the shine and the smell (smells wonderful but it is a heavy scent). I think this product is better when used with another, such as SHEA moisture curl enhancing smoothie or a little KINKY CURLY gel or a little shea butter. Sometimes, I use pure Extra Virgin Olive Oil with it...not that it needs it but just to get that extra shine and moisture.
This product is not expensive just because....it's an A+ product and you can sit and complain about the price all you want...the reality is, you get what you pay for! It's quality is real.
Also, I can buy a 2oz jar (very small) and keep it for 1 1/2 months and I coil or twist my hair every week. You just don't need to use that much of it.
Lastly, when in doubt, you should go to Miss Jessie's website and view some of the tutorial videos, you'll see that not much is used and they use it on 4b type hair, as well. Having natural hair means playing around with different things, sometimes over and over until you feel comfortable with it and the product does what you need it to do. Feel like you're using too much? Use a little less next time. Feeling like you're not using enough? Use a little more the third time. It's trial and error.
Enjoy your natural hair journey. It's a bumpy ride but it always feels free-ing! And freedom is a beautiful thing.
