Product Description

Comedy sequel starring Sandra Bullock as FBI agent Gracie Hart. Gracie became a media sensation when she successfully disarmed a threat against the Miss United States Pageant while working undercover as a contestant. Things haven't been going so well for her lately. Reeling from a broken romance and frustrated to find her newfound fame is jeopardizing the undercover work she loves, Gracie reluctantly agrees to serve the Bureau in the only way possible: coifed and styled for the talk show circuit as 'the face of the FBI'. Though resistant at first, she soon warms to the attention and it's not long before she's getting into her new role a little too much. Her new partner Sam Fuller (Regina King), a tough, ambitious agent who is clearly not her biggest fan, is the first to point out that the pampered Bureau star is turning into FBI Barbie. But when Gracie's best friend, pageant winner Cheryl Frazier (Heather Burns), and emcee Stan Fields (William Shatner), are kidnapped in Las Vegas, Gracie's crime-fighting instincts kick back in. Not wanting to risk losing their greatest PR asset, the FBI top brass forbid her to get involved and charge Sam with keeping her in line. But when it comes to breaking a difficult case and helping her friends, there's nothing Gracie won't do.

From Amazon.co.uk

F.B.I. operative Gracie Hart (Sandra Bullock) famously went undercover in a beauty pageant a while back, and now she's supposedly so recognizable that her only use to the agency is as a pretty public representative. Dumped by her boyfriend (whom Benjamin Bratt wisely decided not to portray this time around), a gloomy Gracie goes along with the promo biz until her friend, Miss United States (Heather Burns), is kidnapped along with pageant official Stan Fields (William Shatner) in Las Vegas. Bullock still has perk to please her fans, but neither she nor her awkward alter-ego has any purpose in a sequel to a movie released five years prior. The result is a desperately unfunny, feature-length commercial for Las Vegas tourism, with outdated homosexual stereotypes (Diedrich Bader, as Gracie's stylist) and the usually terrific Regina King (of Ray and Jerry Maguire fame) stuck in a glum role as Bullock's butch bodyguard. Armed? Yes. Fabulous? No. --Steve Wiecking, Amazon.com

I wasn't expecting too much with this film, but wanted to see it as I had enjoyed "Miss Congeniality", and am a fan of Sandra Bullock. I was quite surprised that I enjoyed it, as many sequels can be quite bad and the cinema reviews weren't that great! It probably isn't the sort of film that will have you gripped to the edge of your seat but it is easy to watch and very funny in places. Sandra Bullock is brilliant, going from slobby agent Gracie Hart to agent "Barbie"! It's definitely a film that I will watch several times. You have to enjoy it for what it is - easy going entertainment!

This movie is exactly what you would expect. Sandra bullock does what she does best. She portrays a character, long on good looks, short on anything serious. The sort of movie you should watch when you wish to take the brain off the hook and have two hours disappear.
Ok, it's the ultimate "nothing movie" - but if you're in the mood for nothing, why not?

I totally loved this film, it's great light hearted humour and Sandra Bullock plays her part really well.

She totally rocks this film, it's kick ass woman protecting the community, FBI style.

Don't listen to these people who say it's bad, it's a funny, slightly tacky, fun film to watch with your friends.

Enjoy!

This really should'nt be seen as a sequel, as it stands alone as a film, the only continuity being Gracie, the fabulous Sandra Bullock. Gracie is now so recognisable she gets asked for an autograph in the middle of a bank job, and so, unable to be a field agent any more, becomes the 'face of the FBI'. This high profile job and round of TV appearances rather go to her head. She gets teamed up with the most difficult woman in the FBI (whom no-one else will partner) as her bodyguard, and they get caught up in a kidnapping case. The sight of them doing a Tina Turner impersonation in a drag club, with Gracie dressed in pink sequins and feathers, and the car chase that followed, left me helpless with laughter and gasping for breath. It's good fun - enjoy.

Miss Congeniality 1 was spot one with everything. It had a great cast, great story behind it and Sandra looked stunning.

Fast forward 5 years and Sandra this time behind the camera as well as in front of it and to be honest it's a little disappointing. Don't get me wrong Miss Congeniality 2 is a fun sequel it has some great comedy gags and Sandra looks beautiful as ever but the whole story behind it was kind of weak, sometimes it even looked embarrassing. But I thought in the end it was a fun and enjoyable film. It should be classed more of a stand-alone film rather than a sequel but Sandra did her best. The film was really hurt by not having Benjamin Bratt's presence because of the chemistry between Sandra and Ben and it also lacked a character in the Michael Caine type role and honestly I thought Diedrich Bader was a poor casting decision.

But now the bad is out of the way lets get to the good parts. The scenes between Hart and Fuller keep you entertained throughout the film, they seemed to really capture the love/hate relationship between the two characters, The reintroduction of the legend that is Mr Shatner was a great touch (but should have had more screen time) The development of the character Grace Hart in the space of 10 months I thought was a really good addition to the film, The breakup scene was nicely done (But as previously stated would of been better if Ben was in the scene) and the Tina Turner scene was hilarious, I also liked the fact they revisited the training area from the first film in the F.B.I offices.

In closing is Miss Congeniality 2 is/was good for what it is/was but lacked that sparkle that made number 1 so good.

I enjoyed the first one more, but this is a surprisingly enjoyable sequal which I could watch again. Sandra Bullock hasn't really made any bad films (that I've seen), and I like her character in this film as she's not always the glamorous girl she's made out to be!

This very much follows on from the first film, but there's no Sir Michael Caine this time, the film does not hit the road running, but give it 10-12 minutes and it really gets going.

I really enjoy Sandra Bullock in comedy roles, here she is joined by the very impressive Regina King as a fellow agent with an attitude who's in the last chance saloon with the FBI, they both work together superbly and provide the best moments in the film.

Heather Burns, William Shatner and Ernie Hudson are all back, but are not in the film too much, but make the most of their time.

Although I did not find this as funny as the first film I found it to be more fun and the storyline more plausible, there's certainly plenty to laugh at.

Overall a really good effort and a worthy sequel, I certainly enjoyed it.
