Chap O'Keefe has provided us with another rip-roaring Western yard about a gutsy gun-fighting gal who sometimes puts her life on the line in hair-raising exploits and other times demonstrates a human desire for caution and a whole skin. She saves her father's heard from a gang of cut-throat rustlers in a reckless manoevre but fails to muster the courage to face down two callous killers before they gun down their target or save her whorehouse pal from dreadful sexual abuse for fear of being shot herself. With all its inconsistencies, a very good read.
