Book Description

The spring Gabby meets Clay, Michelle, another girl like Gabby, discovers the truth. A truth she'll need to share with Gabby and the other four like them.

They kept me prisoner for four years, using me for my predictions. They thought they had me subdued, meekly following orders, but they were wrong. I was waiting for a chance to run. I had to be careful, though. They had my brothers, and the leader wasn’t exactly human.

The sudden death of her stepfather gives Michelle the only chance she may ever have to escape, and she takes it. She needs a place to hide and someone to listen to her predictions so her head doesn’t explode. Yet, there’s nowhere she can hide and no one to protect her from the monsters pursuing her.

Then, she meets Emmitt. He’s calm, kind, caring…and a werewolf. If she can find a way to trust him, he might be able to do more than just keep her safe. He might be the one who can help her fight for answers about her gift and the other women like her.

4.0 out of 5 stars Turning out to be a really good series 2 Nov. 2013
    By Deborah TOP 500 REVIEWER
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
After reading Hope(less) I downloaded the sample of this book I read the first couple of pages expecting it to be about Luke and his mate when it became apparent this wasn't the case I lost interest, don't really know why, anyway I kept thinking about this book so I finished the sample and was hooked. If anything I enjoyed this book more than the last, we get to glimpse a little more of the big picture. Michelle and Emmitt are both wonderful and apart from her one really stupid mistake she was a good character in fact all the characters were good, strong and likable. I like the fact that all the books are linked, I know this almost guarantees that you'll buy the series but it works well.
I'm now left waiting for the third book (Un)Wise to come out, if you're looking for a werewolf series that will keep you interested then this is worth considering.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worthy Sequel 18 Jun. 2013
    Format:Kindle Edition
*I received a copy of this book, in exchange for my honest review.*

After reading Hope(less) a couple of months ago, I was really excited to see where this series went. I knew this book would be about someone else, but I was too intrigued by this world to not continue. I'm definitely glad I stuck with the series, because this sequel was just as good as it's predecessor.

Michelle was a great heroine. I felt really sorry for her because she was deprived of so many small things that are taken for granted, but I also thought she was realy smart and responsible. As a teen, she had to do the best she could to take care of her brothers, and her love for them was really evident. It was the deciding factor in every decision she made. I never really got annoyed with her, even when she wasn't so trustful of Emmitt, since her life had been such a mess beforehand.

Speaking of Emmitt, I thought he was perfect for Michelle. Where in Hope(less) I loved Clay because he let his actions speak for him, I loved Emmitt because he said the right things to Michelle. I loved how he told her what she wanted to know, and that he didn't want to lie to her. I thought that he was such a good balance for Michelle, because he taught her how to do more than just worry, and she definitely needed that.

The side characters in this story were great, as well. I loved Jim, and thought his teasing and humorous ways were wonderful. I also loved Nana, because not only was she a great grandmotherly-like figure, but she was also strong and kind. I loved Michelle's brothers, as well. I was the most sad for them, because Michelle was all they knew as a parent, and they'd been locked up in their house for pretty much their whole lives.

Speaking of which, the plot was really interesting.

    4.0 out of 5 stars Surprising... 3 Jan. 2015
    By Lizzie
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Because I thought this would be Luke's story as the first ended with Gabby sending him to find a girl but it's not, it's Emmitt and Michelle's.
Emmitt sounds gorgeous, just the caring, considerate man you would want and Michelle finds him after she escapes with her young brothers from a rather scary man who has imprisoned her for four years. Blake is a controlling psychopath who doesn't rule out violence when dealing with women and children.
Michelle has to learn to trust Emmitt and his brother and honorary grandmother who actually sounds brilliant, before she can start to live again without fear.
I can see the series coming together quite nicely, the writing style is more fluent in this and the loose ends are tidied up much better. I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series.
Suitable for older teenagers and above.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good 6 April 2014

    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed this. If i'm honest, i enjoyed the first book more, but i like the writing style of this author. I'm enjoying the way that the stories seem to be unfolding at roughly the same time, and in this book we learnt more about the first book. I like the way it is all fitting together. We are learning information at a good pace, fast enough that you don't get bored but not so fast that it makes it pointless continuing. The story moved along at a good pace and i felt the romance was believable and well written. I'm definately moving on to the third one

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable enough 3 Oct. 2015
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
3.5 Stars this book like the first was difficult to get into mainly due to the fact that I was expecting to read about Luke and his would be mate. Towards the end you understand why it's not about Luke. This book wasn't as exciting or as sweet as the first, in the first book Clay is so obviously Gabby mate with the way he is and acts towards Gabby. That's not to say Emmet doesn't do those things he just doesn't seem as intense. It a nice book and I do want to read more of them but want more of Gabby and Clay.

I am really enjoying this series and intend to get them all (6) as they are very affordable - my only complaint is the timeline as the cliffhanger to book 1 was not resolved in this book - and in many ways it felt like this should have been the first story but that wouldn't really work either as the timeline overlaps book 1 so much - personally I prefer a more linear progression in the main story arc.
