Every so often a book comes along that strikes you as absolutely unique in concept and execution. Mirrorworld defiitely falls into that category. A beautifully illustrated storybook on one level, it also functions as a fiendishly clever puzzle cum game.
Using a mirror (supplied), the reader works their way through a series of amazingly intricate illustrations in which clues and impish characters are hidden. It's very smart and absolutely compulsive, and is one of those rare books likely to appeal to adults as well as youngsters. I reckon it'll take the average reader at least 8 hours to plumb all the mysteries hidden in here - good news for mums and dads craving some peace and quiet!
Looking at Mirrorworld is how it must have felt seeing something like Monopoly for the first time - heaps of potential; a product you'll go back to time and again. Definitely a book with legs! This deserves to find a wide readership, and I recommend it unreservedly.

This book is an amazingingly illustrated story book that also doubles as a magical adventure game.You have to use mirrors (supplied) to find the characters which then mutate as you twist the mirror. The book is aimed at 9 to 11 year olds but my daughter and her friends - aged 12 - 14 years - have been playing/reading it for two days non-stop!
