5.0 out of 5 stars so simple and so effective 7 May 2005
By A Customer
Format:Board book
My baby was given this book when she was born and as soon as she could hold it, she has loved it. She puts her nose right up against the mirror as if she's looking in to see who else is there! The pictures are big and bold and allow for super facial expressions from mummy/daddy/whoever. Brilliant book.

5.0 out of 5 stars baby einstein MIrror Me! 8 Feb 2005
By AF
Format:Board book
In the past few weeks I was trying to find something interesting with mirrors to my 4 months old baby. It has proved a difficult task.
Granny came to visit and bought this book as a present.
My baby is delighted to look both at the pictures and mirrors. He does focus his attention on the pages.
The book is simple, effective and attractive to very young children, helping them to acknowledge themselves by practising and observing facial expressions.
There are animals or a sun making different expressions which they can copy.. It is an excellent book.

5.0 out of 5 stars MIRROR MAGIC 21 Oct 2003
Format:Board book
OK so I am a fan of Baby Einstein in the first place, but this book is my absolute favourite. I bought it when my daughters were about 5 months old, and my only regrets are that I didn't find it sooner and I didn't buy two! The book alas is no longer, it's been a bit TOO well loved, but even at 13 months old they won't give up staring into the crumpled up pages which have long since been ripped apart. There are several large mirrors and bright characters in this fabulous little book, and even though it says age range 0-9months, my daughters have had so much enjoyment from this one book that even buying another one at this stage, I know it will remain a favourite for a long time yet!

My 9 month old daughter loves this book and pulls it off the bookshelf for me when we are having a reading session. She gets very excited and laughs the whole way through. I'm really glad I bought it!

Format:Board book
It hasn't got mirrors it has bits of tin foil which give you a headache, it's like looking in the funny mirrors at the fun fair. Don't bother buying.

5.0 out of 5 stars My 10 month old's favourite book 26 Nov 2007
Format:Board book
The main appeal of this book is that there is a mirror on each page. My baby loves to look at himself in the mirror and, at the correct angle, can see me in the mirror doing the faces the book describes. A great buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic gift for a 6 month old baby 3 Mar 2009
By Ellie
Format:Board book
My son has always loved looking in the mirror (a bit like his daddy) so this book is perfect for him. He got it as a gift when he was 6 months old and loved it from the first time he opened it. On the left hand page you have a character making a face and on the right hand side you have a mirror to encourage your baby to copy the character. I love that I can watch his expressions as he tries to copy the funny faces and he loves that he can see me while he's sitting on my knee. The mirrors are reasonable quality, not cheap shiny paper but really reflective. I'd really recommend it to any babies of a similar age.

1.0 out of 5 stars Mirror quality causes problems 17 Jan 2008
By Kit TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:Board book|Verified Purchase
I purchased a variety of books for my 2 month old son, and I was very dissapointed with this one. The mirrors are all distorted because they are very thin-material mirrors, and looking at them gives me an instant headache. My wife looked at the book and also got an unpleasant feeling when looking at the mirrors. We therefore are consigning the book to the dustbin and not letting our son look at it.

I would also be a bit wary of what a baby can actually learn by looking into such a distorted mirror. It might be funny when he is older to look at his face all messed up when he knows what his face should look like, but at a young age when he is learning what his face looks like it would seem to just confuse the child.

I would recommend to people looking for books to catch their children's interest to go for Faces (Baby's Very First Book) instead (plus that also has a similar mirror on the front page if you really want to show your child a distorted reflection of his face).
