DVD Description

Christina Ricci (Monster, Sleepy Hollow) stars as the enigmatic Miranda, whose appearance in the life of daydreaming librarian Frank (John Simm – Human Traffic) propels him into a chaotic world where nothing is what it seems. From the docile domain of his Yorkshire library information desk, Frank suddenly finds himself in a world of confidence tricksters, sadistic villains, and amazing sex… Miranda, he discovers, has five identities - geisha girl, businesswoman, con woman, dancer and dominatrix. But which one is the real Miranda? John Hurt (Captain Corelli’s Mandolin) plays Christian, the elegant schemer who sets Miranda on the trail of deception. Kyle MacLachlan (Sex and the City) is Nailor, the million dollar businessman whose weird fantasies are fuelled by assertive Miranda.

Uninspiring . 8 Feb 2008
Format:DVD
I was expecting great things from this film , given the actors appearing in it , but I am afraid it failed to live up to expectations . It was very hard going , and you have the feeling that the people were in it only to get another pay day . One of the stars I have given it is only for the fact that Christina Ricci is in it . If you are a fan , then watch the far better films such as The Opposite of Sex , Buffalo 66 , Desert Blue , or Pecker .

Forgettable 6 Mar 2010
Format:DVD
An early film appearance from John Simm sees him cast as a day-dreaming librarian who falls for enigmatic hustler Christina Ricci. The promising cast is further bolstered by Kle MacLachlan and the inimitable John Hurt, however this talent is mostly wasted, as the flimsy plot and tedious set pieces do nothing to bring the film to life. Forgettable.

Okay, so slightly biased, I used to use the library building featured in the film. But anyway, John Simm is great, as always. A very screwy film, with some seriously f-ed up characters. Well worth watching. Ignore the first post, the guy is clearly lazy, and not bright enough for a very clever mediation on life, love, and relationships.
Hard work but worth it!
