Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

The world’s first integrated Sat Nav and TV

The V505 TV’s 4.7" widescreen helps you get the most out of navigation and gives you Digital TV in sharp detail.
View digital TV on your sat nav

What’s immediately striking when you pick up the V505 is just how slim and lightweight the model is. Packed with features, the V505 TV’s Spirit auto-tunes itself, so you can find what’s on quickly and easily.

Never miss a moment again

Please note that Digital Terrestrial TV coverage is not available in all parts of the United Kingdom. Please check the signal strength in your area, along your journey or at your destination at www.freeview.co.uk/availability.

More than just the basics

Like most other Sat Navs available today, all the basics are covered, such as finding your destination easily, avoiding traffic, being aware of road speeds and safety cameras and helping the driver negotiate difficult junctions. In particular, Navman Spirit’s new Junction Views feature is a great help as the screen accurately displays a motorway sign in 3D as you approach an exit.

Mio Spirit software

Heralding a new ear of navigation, Navman Spirit is designed for a new generation of adventurers. Able to plan their trips ahead of time and take them down to the correct route, whilst providing more real-time information for exploring what's nearby, the ‘Spirit’ part of the name refers to the new software that powers the range. Redesigned from the ground up, Spirit uses a simple and colourful menu system that takes you to all of the features within a couple of ‘taps’. The Navman Spirit’s new Slide Touch™ screen brings up windows that glide on and off to help you find what you’re looking for quickly, so you only ever need to go back to the main menu when you want to.

Top Features

Digital TV with Electronic Programme Guide

The V505 can receive digital terrestrial TV signals (where available) allowing you to watch TV whilst you are having a break on your journey. Brightness, volume and other controls are adjusted simply by using the touchscreen or optional remote control and the integral Electronic Programme guide shows the time, date and channel of your favourite shows up to a week ahead.

Stay ahead of traffic

Avoid traffic hold-ups and congestion. Using the very latest technology, the Navman Spirit gives you real-time traffic information so you’ll always know what’s on the road ahead.
Navigate easily with Trumaps

See clearly with TruMap™ views

Over the years GPS maps have become more complicated, so we took the bold step and redesigned ours from scratch. The result is TruMap™, a unique design inspired by paper maps. We’ve simplified graphics and colours for a clutter-free look that’s easier to understand. The natural white background allows your route to stand out, so you can see your way at a glance. At dusk, the screen automatically switches to night mode and brightness is reduced for safer driving.
Comes with advanced lane guidance

A new approach to lanes and junctions

With Lane Guidance, the Navman Spirit helps you get into the correct lane to make a turn, so useful with today’s busier roads. The Spirit software also features realistic 3D Junction Views that match major road signs, giving you more time to understand what’s ahead as you approach an exit or major junction.

Know your limits

Pre-loaded safety camera data helps keeps you on the right side of the speed limit. If you’re speeding or approaching a camera, a visual and verbal warning gives you time to safely slow down. The Navman Spirit can also flag up the speed limit of the road you’re on, encouraging safer driving.

Smarter, greener routing

The Navman Spirit’s Economical Routing option assesses and reduces the number of junctions on your chosen route, so you can cut down on stopping and starting, fuel usage and also help lower your car’s CO2 emissions.

Go with a guide

Pre-loaded into every new Navman Spirit are Travel Books from Wcities. Browse the in-depth listings of tourist attractions, places to eat, stay and visit, full of facts and photos. There are hundreds more to choose from, all quick and easy to download when you connect to MioMore™ Desktop 2 via your PC.
Explore with photos

Explore with photos

You can also browse through a huge variety of pictures such as tourist sites, hideaway beaches, hotels and restaurants with NavPix. And connect your Navman Spirit to your PC to upload from over a million geo-tagged photos, free on the NavPix™ and Flickr® websites. Then simply touch the picture on your Navman Spirit and it navigates you there.

Connect to Spirit

You can also connect your device to your PC and download geo-tagged photos (we call them NavPix), connect to online services and customize your own POIs and update maps and safety camera locations.

For safety reasons the TV is designed not to work while your vehicle is in motion.

Great little system 4 Feb 2011
I brought this for my other half for a treat. He absolutely loves it, it was easy to set-up, he says that if you are in a digital area then you can get tv straight away, he did and the picture was perfect, I think he is surprised at how good it is, it covers all areas in the uk and europe, also it gives you the capability of saving money and time as it gives you options of economical routes and also lets you know where there have been accidents so the machine detours you away from the accidents. He does spend of alot of time in the car so it was the best thing to buy for him, there is one thing on it that niggles him though which is the side button if this is pushed it takes you back to the beginning, so when you are watching tv you would have to re-scan to get it back, other than that he has rated it 10 out of 10. Well worth paying the extra money for.

    Mio V505TV Satnav 12 Jan 2010
I have had Mio equipment before (Digiwalker), which I purchased in Greece & then bought GB mapping. A superb little gadget which worked equally well in UK as in Greece. However I wanted to update and fancied the idea of being able to watch some TV when away from home. I looked at the 7" screen V735TV but wondered whether it might be a bit cumbersome so decided to try the V505TV..... Perfect! big enough to see, small enough to hold & put in my pocket safely. Quality is good, performance excellent, however you definitely need the external ariel, and the mains power pack if you're going to watch TV away from the car. It would be nice to have a choice of Navigator voices, some people may not want, or like the male voice given, although I have no gripes about it. I would also like Mio/Navman to make buying the additional mapping much easier. At the moment I want to be able to buy Greek/Balkan mapping but can't be certain of what coverage I will get. It seems to be about 43% coverage in Greece, an overview or listing of all mapping availability would be very useful. Yes, I would buy it again.
