Manufacturer's Description
This 15m washing line is designed for homes without the space for a conventional rotary airer. This retractable reel is ideal for small gardens, patios and balconies and provides a full 15m of drying space. The line is sunlight resistant and the reel can be removed from its bracket when not in use.

Minky has a long history, it's a family owned and run business and can trace its roots back to the mid-nineteenth century in Rochdale, Lancashire. It aims to make household chores as easy as possible and its designers and technicians search out new ways to make everyday tasks a little bit simpler, more pleasant or quicker.

We thought this would be very useful, but in practice, the line is too thin for normal clothes pegs to grip and it also tends to stretch under the weight of sheets, etc., causing the washing to slide together. You are supposed to wrap the line around a knob on the base of the device to tension it, but we found that it kept slipping. This is a cheap product, so we haven't wasted too much money, but it was still a disappointment.

We've bought a second one of these Minky retractable washing lines now. We extend it to approx 12 metres and use it on a very frequent basis. It works perfectly well as long as you wrap the line around the bottom bit twice.

The first one lasted 15 months and my only criticism is that after a while it does not retract the entire line anymore as the mechanism wears out. That's why I have given it 4 stars and not 5.

Other than that - and especially for that price - it's absolutely fine!

great compact design,easy to fit,very versitile if you have the room you can fit an extra hook somewhere else in your garden so small loads can be hung on a short line or big loads can be hung on a long line.only downside i have noticed is it can be tricky to wrap the line around the anchor point on the underside of the unit which makes the line hang down a bit low,but nice and neat and keeps the garden tidier with no line getting in the way for you or your kids.value for money and it does exactly what its designed to do.9/10
