This 15m washing line is designed for homes without the space for a conventional rotary airer. This retractable reel is ideal for small gardens, patios and balconies and provides a full 15m of drying space. The line is sunlight resistant and the reel can be removed from its bracket when not in use.

We thought this would be very useful, but in practice, the line is too thin for normal clothes pegs to grip and it also tends to stretch under the weight of sheets, etc., causing the washing to slide together. You are supposed to wrap the line around a knob on the base of the device to tension it, but we found that it kept slipping. This is a cheap product, so we haven't wasted too much money, but it was still a disappointment.

We've bought a second one of these Minky retractable washing lines now. We extend it to approx 12 metres and use it on a very frequent basis. It works perfectly well as long as you wrap the line around the bottom bit twice.
The first one lasted 15 months and my only criticism is that after a while it does not retract the entire line anymore as the mechanism wears out. That's why I have given it 4 stars and not 5.
Other than that - and especially for that price - it's absolutely fine!

I initially bought one of these as I had read good reviews on it. It was brilliant and lasted a year and a half, finally breaking when the mechanism stopped working. For the price, I was very pleased with the life of it. However, I went on to replace it three times and all three broke after only a month- the line stops retracting and looks just as bad as a regular washing line when I don't have it out. Very disappointing- will not be buying another and am stuck with it attached to the wall with the line wrapped up around it. Would suggest looking at alternatives before buying.

Good Value For Money
Works well and appears to be quite sturdy. I fixed a steel cleat adjacent to the reel as an alternative tethering point to the plastic spigot at the base of the reel.

Useless!!!
Total waste of money as no use as a washing line - not even stong enough to peg socks on without line sagging in the middle.

Retractable reel clothes line
It is neat, attractive looking and easily fitted. However the line is quite thin and seems relatively flimsy if you are used to a "normal" clothes line.
