Fun:
Christmas day and the final present all wrapped up appears. Is it another DVD to add to the collection? I unwrap it and with glee see the Wii logo in the corner reveal itself, (just like Charlie Bucket on his birthday opening his present - that magical Wonka bar). Joy to the world! We have Wii action to keep us entertained for the whole Yuletide season......Oh Wait a minute....It is Ready Steady Cook?

This is a game that feels very infant like in its execution with cartoon like graphics and fun animation, however the gameplay is far from infantile as it took me a while to get to grips with how to operate kitchen utensils in the correct manner, (to avoid the 'audience' laughing at me like a baffoon. But it really is such a tedious game. One of the first things you have to do is select ingredients in a 'Where's Wally' kind of way. Anyway it is boring me to write about how poor the game is. I would much prefer to make real food so that is what I am going to do.

Buy this game if you ever wanted to go on the show but have never had the opportunity, otherwise, just learn to cook for real, it is so much more rewarding!

Fun:
This is not a review of the game as I have not played it, although I had thought of buying it but was, thankfully, put off by the reviews.

I was in the audience of a live Ready Steady Cook at a Good Food shows some years ago. The chefs were Brian Turner and Ainsley Harriot and it was absolutely hilarious. We, and the rest of the audience, were in fits of laughter all through the show. There were no cameras as it was a live show, no re-takes and yes - they both produced a dish in twenty minutes flat. No game could possibly emulate the experience of being there, nor the competition to see who could produce the best dish. I can't remember who won but that's no matter.
It was a fantastic and fun experience and one that a game cannot possibly aspire to.

I had to give the game fun rating one star, and the overall rating one star, even though I've never played it, to leave this comment.
