I found Compton's Encyclopedia 99 Deluxe interesting but somewhat lacking in information the detail of topics was fairly limited despite coming in a 2-CD pacakage, although there were a lot of web links.

The the video -cams were o.k although you always have to expand them to full screen to get a good picture, which was misleading sometimes since they were not always full expanded. The history slide shows were good and informative , but then again you have to expand them to full screen to get a feel of the knowledge and the options bar did not provide a solution to view these as full screen.

The content of history web-cams tended to be American i.e. The progress of the American Civil War, Abraham Lincoln, the world (USA) in 1920s to 1970s. Information seemed somewhat stingy having web links is fair enough but bought the Encyclopaedia to provide me with information in the first place! I found Encarta much more informative.
