Product Description

Product Description

Three-story 'Doctor Who' spin-off which forms a prequel to the previous independent production 'Mindgame'. In 'Battlefield' (by former 'Who' script editor Terrance Dicks), Sontaran Field-Major Sarg takes consolation in the prospect of a glorious death when his ship crashes on a desolate planet. 'Prisoner 451' sees a Draconian on trial for subversion, while in 'Scout Ship', Sophie 'Ace' Aldred stars as the pilot of a crippled spaceship awaiting a lonely death in space. Also included is a special 'Making of' feature.

3.0 out of 5 stars UK SCI-FI MADE EASY 23 Jan 2002
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
So why can't the BBC make science fiction programmes like this? Simple set pieces, well written dialogue and some potentially good ideas, all rarely seen in this made-for-video release. A waste. The most stand-out episode is the final segmant featuring Sophie Aldred as a stranded pilot who realises she's running out of oxygen. Aldred gives a fine performance of what appears to be a mature version of her DOCTOR WHO character, Ace. All rounded off with some behind-the-scenes information make this a worthy purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars For Battle and Glory! 1 May 2001
By Mykol
Format:VHS Tape
This wonderful sequel to 1998s Mindgame proves to be far better than the original. From the magnificent visuals in the Sontaran segment, to the brillantly written and acted Draconian piece, it serves as a superb continuation of the Doctor Who concept.
