About the Author

David Wells graduated in maths at Cambridge University and was the British Under-21 chess champion while still a student. For many years he edited Games & Puzzles magazine. His books include The Penguin Dictionary of Curious and Interesting Puzzles. Rob Eastaway also graduated from Cambridge, in engineering and management studies. He has written several best-selling books on puzzles and maths including Why Do Buses Come in Threes? (1861052472) and How Long is a Piece of String (1 86105 505 6). He has appeared regularly on Radio 4's Puzzle Panel.
