I have got many books on my Kindle and I am careful at selecting what I want. But I made a mistake with this one.
I should have looked at the content page properly. The writing style itself is so informal as to make you wonder how
the writer feels he can write about manners. If you like the way many people write their e-mails, then the way this book is written will not irritate you. Save your few pennies; if you are looking for a well written book on this subject. I am deleting it from my Kindle.

Excellent, modern and funny 16 Feb. 2013

I was looking for something more up-to-date but just as detailed and positive as the good old Emily Post volume :) I've checked quite a few titles before buying this book and am very happy with my choice. First, Mr. O'Byrne doesn't shy away from topics that would send any Emily Post's reader into a coma :) like how to confront a social bully or communicate with your ex. The author seems to have identified real problems that real people have issues with these days - not the notorious "which knife do I use?" dilemma. Secondly, it's his humor. I laughed my way through the book. And thirdly, the book is extremely positive and friendly in tone. I would definitely recommend it to everyone looking for a manual on today's manners.
Witty, elegant and nice 10 Jan. 2014

Hidden gem. Robert, the author of another excellent little book "The Perfectly Dressed Gentleman" does not disappoint.
And for a $1 you can't go wrong.
I especially liked the sections on hosting a party or on being a guest at one. Also the book contains some great general life advice on things like morality and honesty.
