The easy way into Mind Mapping,
By
This review is from: Mind Maps at Work: How to be the best at work and still have time to play (Paperback)
I'd heard a lot about mind mapping but didn't really appreciate it's simplicity and usefulness until I read this. After the first page or two, I was itching to get mapping. The results are truly amazing, with a clarity of thinking and new ideas coming out of it that you would never imagine possible.Easy to read, this is useful for everyone.

The world of business & work in mind maps,
By Francine la Viajera (London) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mind Maps at Work: How to be the best at work and still have time to play (Paperback)
The words 'at work' in smaller letters on the cover defines the examples used in this book. Somehow I missed them when I bought the book which was for me an introduction to the world of Mind Mapping. From the tiniest enterprise to the biggest corporation, Buzan shows that mind mapping is relevant. Business information is quickly captured and arranged as it will be used, via colourful branched diagrams with unlimited potential to grow and grow. Hmm....if I can just find where I drew the blue branch with the words "I need to talk to my bank manager?"

Good book, but not for everyone.,

This review is from: Mind Maps at Work: How to be the best at work and still have time to play (Paperback)
I think I was expecting more of this book than it was intended to be. I've used mind maps quite a bit (using a great tool called FreeMind), and I was hoping to read about different ways of using mind maps to improve my efficiency and to use lateral thinking to organise the information in different ways.
However, this book isn't an insight into how the mind works and how you can exploit mind maps to mirror how you would like to be able to use your brain more as a tool, but a series of examples of mind maps - and a lot of them didn't really apply to me. That being said, it's well illustrated, and it does give some good case studies and I'm sure some people will find it really useful... but perhaps not so much if you're interested more in the psychological and cognitive aspects of mind maps. As another reviewer suggested, I might check out his earlier books, as I imagine that they give you more of a grounding in the basics of mind maps.
