5.0 out of 5 stars At long last on dvd, 16 Mar 2009

This is surely the most under-rated tv show in the last twenty years. Philip Madoc is superb as Bain - the stories are detailed and concentrate not only on police procedure but on character development. A most intelligent series that deserves more recognition. Originally shown in Welsh on Wales C5 but luckily Channel 4 later showed the English language versions. I've been waiting too long for repeats on C4 or ITV3 but thank you Network for bringing back quality drama!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best series ever, 9 April 2009
By P. D. Gilbert "Madoc fan" (Malmesbury, Wiltshire, England) - See all my reviews

A fantastic release. I've been waiting for this for far too long. I first saw A Mind To Kill when it was shown on Sky One which actually predated the S4C Welsh version and the Channel 5 English version. I just hope that Network will carry on and release the rest of the episodes. It would be nice to include the Welsh version which was filmed separately rather than being dubbed, but that's probably a bit of a niche market.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Quality Police Drama, 22 Mar 2009
By Peter H. Mussell (Lancashire, England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is a peach of a series. Phillip Madoc is in his element as the dry, intelligent DCI Noel Bain. He is ably assisted by a great many very talented Welsh actors, whose unfamiliarity to other UK viewers only serves to make each story all the more believable. The storylines are first class, and the whole effect is enhanced by the haunting music by Mark Thomas. If only the programme quality on mainstream UK channels was a fraction as good as this! A Welsh Delight!

If you like gritty detective dramas buy this collection. Madoc is superb in the role. He brings an understanding and humanity to the detective role.
