A Challenge and a Half, 14 Dec 2002

This review is from: Mind-Bending Lateral Thinking Puzzles (Hardcover)
'Mind Bending Lateral Thinking Puzzles' is a great book for all ages. It tests the reader's logical capabilities to the maximum. The puzzles range the classical 'How far can one walk into a forest' (ans. half way) to more devious situations, such as to explain why 'A women who is on a machine puts a coin into the machine, sighs, then takes out another coin from her bag. She then removes her coat and then inserts the next coin. Extremly disappointed, the woman puts on her coat and leaves - what just happened?'. If you REALLY want to know the answers then I recommend you buy the book, as a hint though, the machine has a scale. The book comprises of many innotive (I think over 80) puzzles as well as simplistic yet colorful illustrations (every page is coloured - think about the ink!) and is certainly worth its money. Whether you're a member of MENSA or just somone who has a keen interest, this is one of the best puzzle books around reflected in the sales status, 31,357.

Nice but a bit too short, 5 Jun 2005

This review is from: Mind-Bending Lateral Thinking Puzzles (Hardcover)
This book contains a nice collection of puzzles, some being trivial, some tricky, and some really hard. Sometimes I actually wondered if anybody gave an answer without any additional clues. However, the content is a bit limited - Amazon's product description only says it's 96 pages, but doesn't mention it's in a very tiny format (something like A6), and that one page contains only one puzzle. Still, the quality is OK, and you might actually find the size handy, as it easily fits in any pocket.

OK stocking filler for kids, 4 Sep 2007
This review is from: Mind-Bending Lateral Thinking Puzzles (Hardcover)
As other reviewers have said this is a surprisingly small book but is clearly put together.
I did find it had a lot of traditional puzzles found in many other places but overall it was fine and would be great for a child for Christmas
