Book 1 covers analogue computers a fascinating subject (ever tried to multiply with Op-Amps), light/dark detectors radio circuits and more.
I found the ideas on optical circuits, for communications and fun very interesting, I will be trying the 1KM optical link system soon. There is also a section on bargraph LED displays, which I must build.
The digital circuits section looks at comparators, 4000 series CMOS chips and uses. Shift registers and their many uses are looked atand interfacing to keypads and calculators.
There is also a section of experimentor, hobby and game circuits, which among other things looks at air pressure, magnetic and light sensors.
I can not easily cover everything in this book in a short review and do it justice.
The best part about this book is that it is practical. There is not a great deal of Mathematics and there are many circuit to build. The author adds useful anecdotes to circuits and the concepts behind them.
If you first read 'Getting started in electronics' you will appreciate this book.
One of the best electronics books I have bought in many years.
