Millie Reinvented [Kindle Edition]

Never before have I ever experienced such a post-mortem of a kiss, the way Elodie Parkes did in the first chapter of the book. It made me think about the way I kiss, am been kissed and I have to admit, I felt short-changed in the kissing department. :) From now on, let's just say, I will have a new awareness in the kissing stakes :)

Millie Reinvented, is a sad tale of a woman ignored and treated shabbily by her husband. As much as I abhor infidelity, I couldn't help feeling for Millie, given her circumstances and I found myself making excuses for her.

What I liked about the story is that it's current and realistic and I was able to identify with the characters and their situation. I feel that most women will.

It's a love story more than anything else but the sex scenes are sizzling.

Also, every woman should have a month (Or a year) of `August' in their life :)

An easy read which I highly recommend

Good Points

Okay, first of all, I want to say that Ms Parkes is true to her word. In a world where love is not always found, she writes a beautiful love story. But it isn't too thick on the romance like some romance novels can be, and the female protagonist, Millie, is not the `slappable' type. She is a normal woman, and very relatable. I did wonder if I would feel a bit strange about reading this story, as it does involve (in my eyes) a woman cheating on her husband. But first of all, her husband is not all that he seems, and you find yourself rooting for her, and even shedding a few tears. The story flows so well that you will be not be able to stop reading, and you are compelled to read onto the next page. On top of all this, the steamy scenes were hot.

Bad Points

There were a couple of occasions where I felt it had been a little rushed, but it didn't mean any information was left out, so it was still fine to read. I just would have liked to have seen a little more drama and length put into these parts.

Overall

I felt this was a fantastic first offering from Elodie Parkes, and I can't wait to read her next one! The story was beautiful, and the writing was crisp and well-written. I urge anyone looking for a new romance novel with some steamy scenes to pick this one up, and devour it in one sitting.
