Having recently gone back to fountain pens, I decided to start a small collection of my own. The problem was that I knew nothing about any of the miriad makes and models and colours and nibs that were available in both new and used condition. The first thing was to get onto Amazon and look under 'Pens', 'Pen' and 'Fountain Pen' amongst the books. I was amazed at the number of different books. They started at the low end (this book) and went up to the 'Lottery Win' prices of the Lambrou books and those of Schneider & Fishler. Needless to say, I went for this book as my first reference volume. It may only be a small book of 64 pages, but it packs a lot of information in. The soft-back book is printed on high quality low-gloss paper and the printing and the many photographs are of top quality. I read this book regularly and am very pleased with the ammount of information that it contains. Jim Marshall, the author, lives and breathes pens. He is one of the foremost experts in this field and as such, I recommend this little book wholeheartedly.

Don't be fooled, this "book" is a few pages of common knowledge, worth at best £4.00. If you are interested in pens, look elsewhere.
