Book Description

1 Jun 2012
Dazzling, stunning, covetable and often decadent, costume jewellery has brought sparkle and elegance to the world of fashion for centuries. Whether you are just starting out, an established collector, or simply interested in vintage fashion, Costume Jewellery tells you everything you need to know. Who are the big name designers? Who are the rising stars? Where are the new collecting areas? What should you look for when buying? This stunning new guide includes a comprehensive introduction to costume jewellery - through Ancient Egypt to 19th century America - and provides the most authoritative information on 20th century jewellery by iconic names such as Trifari, Coro, Chanel and Dior. Exploring subjects including Art Deco jewellery, costume jewellery in Hollywood films, Bakelite and unsigned pieces, this book also looks at the lives of the designers and their inspirations, as well as showing hundreds of beautiful designs and the marks to look for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book
Haven't opened it, as I bought it for a friend as a Christmas present, having been impressed by seeing the book in the library. However, excellent service from Amazon as usual.

3.0 out of 5 stars A good gift
Not entirely sure why I have to review a book that was bought through someone's Wish List, as I haven't read it, but she enjoyed her birthday present.
