Covers all major icons and consumer durables, textiles and furnature, toys etc. The layout is very applealing and easy to read in a soft 50's style. The photography is high quality as are the descriptions and summaries. All items are valued. The text is clear, sometimes affectionate but never sentimental, giving context and related issues or language. It's a fascinating and informative read, even if you weren't part of the 50s and the text and graphics are so interesting and engaging. It makes me want to find out if she's written 'Collecitng the 60s' yet!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book, some information available elsewhere but lots of new items. An enjoyable read even if you aren't collecting.

This will be a nice gift but it's not exactly a technical authority for serious collectors...more of a coffee-table read or a light-hearted skip though a nostalgic time
