this book is excellent-very much darker than the usual star trek books and though it is set in different times, it is not confused or hard to follow.it was great to see all the characters in greater depth than usual and i loved garak, who comes across as a very disturbed person.i was sorry to finish this book, and rate it as one of the best books i've read

i won't spoil this for pitential readers, but if you love trek and a good time travel yarn, then this is for you.

again i won't spoil, but the attitude of the alternate future Starfleet, makes thsi book worth reading, it's like the fleeters have come down to reality for onec, none of this more eveolved sesibility malarky!

This is a great book, the plots are complicated and have you going "what the heck?" constantly, charicterisation is great, and seeing Dukat, Pah Wraith ifested is allways a pleasure

(Just a note on the placement of this book in regards to where it fits in with the TV series - It fits snugly between Season 6 Episodes 25 - "The Sound of her Voice" and episode 26 - "Tears of the Prophets". Knowing that makes a certain plot twist at the end seem justified)

I first read these books when they first came out and have to say that they are probably my favourite of all published DS9 stories. The reintroduction of characters you know and love from the other Star Trek franchises are mixed brilliantly with the usual residents of DS9. You really feel like you are on the journey with the characters, and the risks they face are shared.

I am so excited about being able to re-read this epic once again. A friend borrowed my paperback copies and loved them so much, I couldn't bear to separate them!

This book was well written but was confusing in the sense that simple explanations of time travel and wormhole physics were absent leaving the story hard to imagine as being plausible. I just gave up on the explanations and read the book for what it was. The actual explanations provided were not simple enough to understand and left me frequently confused. I appreciated the narrative and story-telling aspects. I gathered enough information on how the characters developed throughout the story. I enjoyed the story but not its physics explanations.
