Good nostalgic stuff. I bought it for Dance Hall Days and Everybody Have Fun Tonight. It was great to hear them again. However, the rest of the tracks are mostly forgettable.

Bought this album primarily because I've long loved and fondly reminisced about two songs from my youth - 'Dance Hall Days' and 'Everybody Have Fun Tonight' - I wasn't expecting much from the rest of the album to be honest - what a surprise - I love it!!!
Played on repeat a couple of times there isn't a track I don't like and I now realise that I've heard and liked several other of their tracks before - mostly from movies - just hadn't realised that they were by Wang Chung. Particularly like the much later 'Space Junk' - such a pity that they never released more - this is a great album and they were a great band of the 80's that deserved greater success and recognition in the UK.

This lot announced themselves with the classy 'Dance Hall Days' in the mid eighties. I reckon if they'd been around in the late seventies they would have sounded a lot better, as they had more in common with the likes of The Cars than their synth-oriented contemporaries. The first three tracks on this compilation are their best known and all are worth having. Unfortunately the coming of the digital age was a blight on many bands and the lesser compositions on here are bland and plastic. The beaty 'Wait' and 'Let's Go!' both have merit, but the rest is at best average. A decent CD as long as you can get it cheap.

Listening to this album takes my back 20 years, to my youth and to the music that made me turn up the stereo and annoy my parents. You may never have heard of Wang Chung but if you liked mid-eighties soft rock and the then music of Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi, Europe etc. you may like to give this a go.

I Love Wang Chung Forever! 29 Mar 2005
By Sunny440 - Published on Amazon.com

I have always liked Wang Chung and Dance Hall Days was my very favourite song. I can't believe i've waited 20 years to actually buy their CD as i've missed out on all those classic tracks. I love Everybody Have Fun Tonight, Let's Go, Dance Hall Days and Praying to a New God. All the tracks are danceable and fun, which is what Wang Chung is all about, I think. This is a fantastic pop albumn which typifies 80's music. I love it!
The band whose name became synonymous with "having fun tonight" 3 July 2014

Really, that's a pretty good thing to be remembered for. I think when the voice within the sea of chorus exclaims "Can you tell me what a Wang Chung is??" it pretty much echoes what was on our minds when we first heard "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" back in 1986. You'd swear it was a commercial jingle for Chinese food. The song truly became the musical anthem for partying down with its oddly infectious hook urging us to "Wang Chung tonight". Not surprisingly, this huge hit kicks off this collection.
This was one of those bands who went through several band line-ups and incarnations before they landed on the name that brought them fame.
Wang Chung has a sound eclectic enough to make them stand out from the new wave (no pun intended) of artists making their way through the 80's. They approach both words and music differently. "Dance Hall Days" is a pop-friendly tune where Big Band saxophone meets 80's synthesizers. The Oriental-flavored "Let's Go!" ably follows up the spirit of "Everybody Have Fun Tonight". I remember the song "Don't Let Go" getting some limited radio play back then. They displayed their talent for composing movie songs with the darkly brooding "To Live and Die in L.A." and the scorching guitar of "Hypnotize Me". The rest---the chaotic "praying to a New God", "Wait", "Don't Be my Enemy", and the optimistic "What's So Bad About Feeling Good?"---broaden the band's versatility. Included is their 1997 studio reunion with the song "Space Junk".
Another collection called "Everybody Have Fun Tonight: Wang Chung's Greatest Hits" is more dense in content. But I'm pleased with this one; it's the "meat & potatoes" of Wang Chung's music. Long live Wang Chung!

Amazingly, I discovered Dance Hall Dance just a while ago. Loved it and Wang Chung tonight. Rushed to buy the album and gosh, it's just those two songs. Nothing else here to see or listen.

I got this after listening to some 80's music while on a 4 day Cruise from Miami. I remembered some of the songs and I decided to buy it from Amazon. I got it and I am very pleased with the music since its the kind that I like, free and full of Energy.
