The final book in the Millennium trilogy is excellent. It wraps up all the mini-stories and fills in the holes and answers questions from the previous two books. It's also good to see the brilliant Erika play more of a central role this time around, and I definitely felt for her through her ordeal at SMP. The trial of Lisbeth near the end really pulls the book together and keeps you reading wide-eyed for hours on end it is so mesmerizing! The book also has more funny moments than the previous two, although I don't know if this is because Swedes are so blunt or whether it was intentional, but I find the same thing with lots of other translations of Swedish books too, whether in English or French. The main problem with Larsson's books is the endless cast of characters, I had to keep reminding myself who was who at times, and the unfamiliar names don't help (I definitely think that SOME names should be altered for translation). Will definitely be buying the English version in October so I can enjoy it again!
