OK, this may be classified as "Folk Music" with all that that entails. I first heard a track on Mike Harding's Folk on Two Radio Show and subsequently bought the album and was not disappointed a single iota. This album quite simply blew me away. The sheer quality of the voices, instrumentation and production stood up those proverbial hairs on the back. Think of a kind of June Tabor or Eliza Carthy and Dougie Maclean combo. But it's unique and has it's own individual style tbh. Buy it yourself if you appreciate excellent quality "English" ie non-Brit Awards music. Now to catch them in concert.

saw ben and rosie during the summer in whitehaven - the gig didn't madly click but bought Mill Lane anyway.
just wanted to say that when i get the chance, play the cd on a loop all day. very special. vocals, song writing and 5* vibe. and thats 3 months now. highly recommended.

All I can say is buy this album. Both Rosie and Ben are fantastic musicians and singers. This album includes original songs and a well thought-out take on traditional songs as well. They are also fantastic live. With only one album out they have the luxury of doing some cover songs and some of the songs from Ben's preivous band 'Tarras' when playing live. Looking forward to the next album!!
