2.0 out of 5 stars Lonely Planet guide to Milan, Turin and Genoa 3 Sep 2003
Format:Paperback
If you're going to all three of the above cities, this book is great. However, if you're only visiting one of them, you only need 1/3 of it!

I recently went for a city break to Milan, and felt a bit frustrated as the information wasn't as in-depth as I would have liked, and there was so much stuff that I just didn't need (about Turin and Genoa). To be be honest, I rate the more specific Time Out guides much higher, and will stick to buying them (from amazon of course!) in the future.

The book has good information but dont buy it now!! The currency is in lira and is outdated for much of the info. Its a pity this book hasnt been updated as the cities fit my travels perfectly.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic insight into life in Milan. 9 Nov 2001
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
...This book covers all you need to know about Milan. What to do, where to go, how to get there, what to DO, what NOT to do, and even the opening and closing times of the shops. If you enjoy shopping or sight seeing then this is the book for you as it covers them both in great detail.
You don't have to read the book cover to cover, you can just dip in at the appropriate point. This book is very handy as it is also pocket/hangbag size and is an ESSENTIAL to carry around if you do visit Italy. I found the book very interesting as it talks about things I didnt know about Italy. It is a MUST for a traveller.
Going through the book, it gives you a brief insight into the history of Italy, facts for the visitor (facts for those women travelling alone), how to get there and around, things to see and do, places to stay, entertainment, excursions, shopping, places to eat and also maps of the country and streets.
