Very handy to have on your person. I bought in for two reasons, 1. I often get a bit lost walking my dogs in the country parks and it helps to get me on the right track. 2. The husband is taking up astromony and needs to know where north is to find some of the planets. It is great for both. It is the size of a one pence piece and I hadn't read that it as a button compass and had the fit of giggles when the husband opened the packet and it came out. So be warned it is very small but very handy.
I didn't bother to return it BUT, it is not very accurate because the pointer tends to stick up to 30 degrees from where it should come to rest - easily checked by having the pointer come to rest from opposite ways. Even tapping on a hard level surface only gets it to plus or minus 10 degrees of North. The oil seems to give too much damping. And as has been said, it is so tiny.
