The ‘I’ll Learn’ Target Stick Trainer is an extendable stick with a red ball at the end, which is the part you will be training your dog to touch. By targeting your dog to touch the stick you can encourage him to move to specific places i.e. his bed or your car boot! Extendable to 54cm the Target Stick is ideal for teaching your dog fun tricks and is perfect for competitive tasks such as heelwork.

The Mikki Target Stick is a highly effective dog training aid. The device was designed by Claire Arrowsmith, a professional dog training consultant, to help teach dogs new tricks by providing them with a target ball to focus their attention on.
The Mikki Target Stick can be used in conjunction with a clicker (ideally the Mikki Clikka) to teach your dog tricks. When your dog is associating the sound of the click with a positive behaviour and knows to expect a treat when they hear the sound, the Target Stick is the next step to good training.
The Target Stick has a comfortable handle with a thumb space for easy holding. The pack includes a large beginners ball for initial use and this can be removed with a coin to be replaced with a smaller ball for more advanced training once your dog has learnt the basics. The Target Stick extends to 54cm and is perfect for heelwork to music, obedience training and agility.
How does the Target Stick work?
- Have some treats ready in your hand to reward your dog
- Rub the end of the red target ball with a treat to entice your dog to sniff it out
- When your dog's nose comes into contact with the ball, use a clicker to indicate good behaviour
- Immediately drop a treat to the floor and place the target next to it
After your dog knows the basic idea of the Target Stick, you can make the training more complicated and interesting, for example, walking alongside your dog or moving further away. The Mikki Target Stick is designed to encourage your dog to move to specific places and is useful in agility training and 'tricks' training, as eventually your dog will learn to follow the target stick.

Great training aid and very affordable. Slightly light weight and flimsy but you get what you pay for. I used this training aid for a 3 month + bordie collie and have found it to be a great help when attempting new tricks.
