Product Description

There has never before been an 'off the shelf' product designed specifically for light sensitive migraine. With migraine being a common problem and light sensitivity a common trigger or symptom, MigraLens® offers a unique solution to the problem. Migraine sufferers benefit from having the opportunity to really address this issue. For 40% of migraineurs, light sensitivity is either a trigger for an attack, or simply a symptom experienced during one. MigraLens® was developed to absorb light from the red and blue parts of the spectrum, which through the research undertaken by Dr Andy Dowson and Alan Maine was found to be the cause of sensitivity in relation to migraine. With 91% of people trialled preferring MigraLens® over any other tinted glasses previously used, you could find that they reduce the severity & frequency of attacks, as did Cindi Moreaux. "When my Migralens glasses arrived I happened to have been in the middle of a multi-day headache and was amazed at how the pain in my eyes and head was instantly decreased as soon as I put them on. I now wear the glasses every day at the office in fluorescent lighting, in stores, and even while watching television. My headaches are now decreased from 6 out of every 7 days to about 2 or 3 a month, and even when I do get them they are not as severe as they once were. Using Migralens in the midst of an attack even decreases the nausea and loss of balance I typically experience and wearing them daily helps me to prevent the vast majority of attacks. They are by far the best invention of my lifetime and I strongly recommend them to anyone suffering from these debilitating headaches." MigraLens® is available in various styles whether you wear prescription glasses or not. If you do they can be made as clip-ons, supplied as fit-overs, or made to your prescription.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thrilled with product! 25 Jun 2011
My Migralens glasses are fabulous. When they arrived I was experiencing visual symptons and nausea. I put the glasses on and found relief within fifteen minutes. I'm delighted they worked for me. I suffer very regular migraines so these will be travelling with me.( I'd like to get a hard case for them so that I don't damage them though).

4.0 out of 5 stars Help for migraine sufferers 1 Dec 2012

I have a medical condition (Lupus) which means I am extremely sensitive to both sunlight and fluorescent lights. Normal sunglasses don't really help and when I read about these I thought I would give them a try. Firstly, I would question why they are as expensive as they are. The frames are black plastic and the lenses are green plastic. They are made in China. They most definitely don't look expensive yet they cost considerably more than any of the "normal" sunglasses which I own, most of which look considerably better quality than these. I feel that a high price has been put on these simply because of the medical connection. Secondly, the glasses look unattractive. I know that the lenses have to be green (green filters out the blue and red rays which are believed to trigger migraines) but I felt very self-conscious wearing the glasses. Would it not be possible for the manufacturer to overlay the green lens with a brown or black lens? This would mean that the essential green lens is still present, but is disguised with the brown/black lens overlaying it.

Having said all this, I did find that the glasses were quite helpful but they did not cure the problem. I felt that they worked more effectively with fluorescent lights than with natural sunlight. I found that they offered me some protection but not complete protection. However, these glasses are designed specifically for people who suffer from migraines and are sensitive to bright light. Possibly my situation is more complicated and perhaps I was expecting too much.

If you do suffer from migraines, these are worth a try if you do not mind the price. After all, a drug-free solution is definitely not to be sneezed at.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly effective 14 April 2014

Using these when on screen has not only reduced the frequency of my migraines but also unexpectedly reduced the tiredness of my eyes by the end of the working day. I also find them useful during an attack for reducing light without having to be in a totally darkened room. I now have one pair at work and one at home and have purchased a set for my daughter and for one of my employees who also has migraines.
