The S6220 Cat & Dog’s filterbags are made from a special fleece consisting of 9 layers; it retains more fine dust and small particles than a conventional filterbag. Also featured, is an auto shutter mechanism automatically closing the bag when the vacuum cleaner is opened, preventing dust escaping during disposal. The S6220 Cat & Dog’s 2200 watt motor, Active AirClean filter and Turbobrush with this vacuum cleaner are perfect for homes with pets. Miele’s S6220 Cat & Dog’s Turbobrush floorhead will pick up stubborn pet hairs while the Active charcoal in the filter will help absorb any unwanted odours for a fresh smelling home. The S6220 Cat & Dog is available in a lovely high gloss Tayberry Red finish.

After 2 Dysons, both of which suffered premature death, we decided to go for a different make. We have a ragdoll cat whose rabbit-like fur weaves itself into the carpet fibres, something the Dyson couldn't cope with (even with it's laughably poor turbo brush).
What a revelation the Miele Cat & Dag Hair cleaner was. We were used to spending a couple of hours with the Dysons, and still the carpets didn't look that great. The Miele with turbo brush fitted went through the house in about 15 minutes, and left the carpets looking almost like new. We also have very high ceilings, and the long extendable tube on the Miele means that even my 5ft 4ins wife can now reach the ceiling for cobweb removal.
The whole product just screams quality, right down to the thin metal strip in the plastic handle to prevent the user building up a static charge and getting a shock. The plastic parts are very high quality (unlike the brittle Dyson equivalents). Yes it has a bag, but I would rather change bags in a cleaner that actually does the job than have a bag less cleaner that doesn't clean.
Another indication of the quality of this product is the fact that it comes with a 2 year guarantee, upgradable for just £30 to a full 10 years parts and labour (that's got to be a no-brainer).
If you have a pet that sheds hair, or even if you don't, I would say that you would be extremely hard-pressed to find a better cleaner for the price.

I have just upgraded from a small, powerful bagless cylinder to this Miele Cat & Dog.
All I can say is: I wish I had bought this machine about 4 vacuum cleaners ago!
I am very fussy about these things, believe me, I have been through a lot of machines because I work them very hard.
I bought it because of nimblepixie's review on here and also because I used one about 15 years ago at a friend's and noticed how superior it is.
For me it was a just a question of working-up to the required price. I used to pay about £50 for a cleaner - and all I ended-up with was: 'just a cleaner'.
This machine is different. The moment you open the box you realise everything is better quality and stronger. You get lots of the satisfying clunks and clicks you do with a premium car. I found I didn't need to read the instruction manual straight away, as it was all so obvious. Then I pulled out the generous flex - that I would like to add, remains fully extended all the time you use it - and pushed down the 'On' button...
To cut a long story short, when I completed the ground floor, my husband came downstairs and not only remarked how quiet it was but actually said he could see the carpet was a different colour - to which I added "yes, its now the original colour of 'wheat', as opposed to the greyish-brown it has been for years". Essentially, the machine picks up the finer dust particles that cheap cleaners leave behind.
I wish someone had given me this as a wedding present years ago.

Same story as the previous reviewer - dysons let us down, and this Miele is just great. Quiet, powerful, effective, well built, and logical. Cat hair is gone, as is my hate of vacuuming.

Excellent cleaner
This Miele is excellent at picking up all sorts of dirt and pet hairs. Much better than bagless cleaners like Vax machines in our experience.

Don't look elsewhere!!
