Product Description

Review

An incredible amount of information is to be found in detailed but concise entries intelligently arranged and cross-referenced. It is an easy-to-use, fast reference text of value to FRCA students, their tutors, jobbing anaesthetists and their assistants.
Anaesthesia

There was not much room for improvement from the previous editions of this book, but this has been achieved. Not only aesthetically . but also with the content update and clearer illustrations. We would recommend this book to all anaesthetists in training.
British Journal of Anaesthesia

An invaluable text for those at any stage of training and to those who wish to use it as a ready reference text...an essential addition to any anaesthetic department for both anaesthetists and intensive care practitioners.
International Journal of Obstetric Anesthesia --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

From the Author

With current International and UK government policy on health and social care reflecting a much greater public health focus, the time is ripe for midwives to fully capitalise on their professional skills allowing them to make a real contribution to the improvement of the public’s health.

This text takes the reader through the key concepts of community and public health and provides guidance on identifying health needs within a community setting. While drawing on a range of literature and research, the focus is clearly on the midwives role and provides a sound knowledge base from which practitioners can develop and improve their practice and contribution to public health care provision.

This book is without a doubt the bible when you first start your training. It's got everything, and in alphabetical order, where as most other book are just a physiology book and biochem book etc. glued together, this has all the info as you need to know it. If you don't have this book BUY IT.

A-Z is not a textbook, neither a source of solid reference. It is a book -fabulously- designed to give you just the right information for almost any subject you may come across in the exams. Tight, concise, precise, very good pictures where needed, laid out in a dictionary kind of way. You come across 5-HT3 receptor and want to know all the subtypes? It's in there. Not too much information, nor too little. Most of the time just the right amount. Promised myself to write a review if I passed my exams. I owe it to the writers.

In simple terms this is an anaesthetic bible...an essential book for any practising anaesthetist. Especially useful as an e-book on a smart-phone for reference!

This book is without a doubt the most useful reference for anaesthesia. It is handy to have around whilse revising for the FRCA Primary MCQs! I have it open next to me whilst I am practicing questions and refer to the topics to read around the stems.

Good source of reference. Each chapter is alphabetically arranged with cross-references. Enough facts without too much nitty-gritty nonsense. Good for making quick references while doing practice MCQs.
