This game is....well what can i say this game rules! it has extremely cool cars including the saleen and a hummer but midway have created thier own concept cars. Granted that two of them look like aeroplanes but they still run smoothly and the races are amazing and west coast customs being and added bonus to this already amazing game because police come after you in athier boring old cars while you burn away in a chevrolet corvette ZO6! still if you love racing games but also a bit of road rage buy this game!

Awesome game, so if you are a boy you will like it or love it.You have a wide selection of cars and trucks which you can get pimped by west coast customs crew so that you can have a cool time in the city of L.A .

This game was meant to be one of the first car racing games to have a story in the game, but it turnd out to be a dissapointment. The story mode is pretty dull and you don't get into it. All you basically need to do is steal a load of cars back from somebody that took them away from you, and thats pretty much it. Its Not very exiting at all. All you have to do is escape from a load of cars that are chasing you and thats how you get one of your cars back every time. In my opinion its not very imaginative and its seems like they have spent more time with the graphics than with anything else. The stunts are rubbish, all they seem to be are ramps which don't take you very high and they always seems to be a building right in front of you when you land and you just crash right into it.
The good things about the game are:
The graphics are superb
the cars are cool
the police chases on the motorways are fun
and its fun crashing through the Hollywood sign
The bad things are:
The handling's terrible
the races aren't fun at all
the stunts are plain and pathetic
you can't customise the cars yourself (you can't even choose the colour)
the police seem to be able to go faster than any of your cars
the racing is slow and boring
The slow motion crashes can be cool but sometimes a bit silly, as when you just slightly touch another car as your driving and it suddenly turns into an explosion and the car goes flying up in the air.
The driving is very slow, and the tracks are all standard, driving around bends that are all the same 90 degree turns.
If you try taking an alternative route or a short cut it always turns out to be a dead end or it takes you right off course, so basically theres no short cuts. Then you will loose the race as the other cars never seem to make mistakes so its very unlikely you will catch back up with them.
It's not at all a very well done Los Angeles either. I'm not saying that it's not a good city, I'm telling you it's not at all acurate. It's also very small, it may not seem that when you take a first look at the map, but you will realise it takes you about one minute to cross the whole city.
I'm just warning you, by the time you reach around 50 or 60%, you will realise it hasn't been much of an experience at all, and it's all been pretty much the same. The only thing that improves as you go along in the game is the cars, and the only thing that's good about them is that they look cool.
It doesn't beat any of the street racing games at all, it's not reckless, it's not fast and it's not fun.
