A case becomes personal for Barnaby when his old friend and colleague, Jack Colby, is forced to crash his car and then bludgeoned to death. The case brings back memories for Midsomer Holm's villagers, as the wife of Lord Holm was killed in a similar fashion sixteen years ago. Lord Holm was arrestd and convicted for his wifes murder. Is he guilty of this latest attack? Or is someone trying to incriminate him?
This is a truly brilliant episode, similar in style to the older stories, when quality mattered over quantity. Superbly acted and with twists galore, i doubt anyone will be disappointed. There's a very dark and sinister edge to it as we realise peoples lives are being sacrificed for the sake of a particularly ruthless killer.
Highly recommended. More like this please.
