Midsomer Murders works best when there is good dialogue between Barnaby and Jones. Add in some continuity with updates on Joyce and Cully, the wife and daughter of Barnaby, and you have more than enough. However, this episode throws a trip to Snowdonia into the mix! Amazing. This time, there is no such claim, as past trips to the seaside might suggest, that Midsomer includes Wales. Nevertheless, the central mystery is good, the characters float seamlessly into Barnaby's world...and there is a charming mixture of new regular officers from Causton Police Station. This is a highlight of the recent Midsomer episodes and shows the reasoning for commissioning Seasons 11 and 12 . Utterly enchanting.
