3.0 out of 5 stars Crazy music to impress your eccentric friends, 18 April 2004
Well! First off, if the name has dragged you in expecting hardcore crazy punk from mohawked shouty lads you'll be disappointed. What you do get is stream of consciousness poetry spoken with fluctuating emotion over some very strange instrumentation. Bleating saxaphones, slide guitars and clanging percussion lilt along nicely throughout the album, it sometimes seems repetitive but it's what's being said...it'll just make you laugh. When Keith Morris shouts "And you can't eat, because they've stolen all the spoons!!!!" You can't deny that there's genius here, and Hurricane Morris is a soothing 10 minute epic one man stand up comedy routine. It's also important to say that they're very much an aquired taste, they sometimes sound horriffic and appear to delight in trying your patience but just seeing the side of the case in your CD collection...priceless.
