This was the first Linda Howard book I had read back in 1988. It has everything, romance, adventure, to die for hero, and a heroine whose place you want to take; and you can feel the heat as you trek through the jungle. This book started me off as an avid fan of Linda, and I still wait eagerly for each book she brings out.

Hero and heroine, Grant and Jane, both with their hangups which are resolved throughout the breathlessly paced adventures. Evading villains and the dangers of the jungle. Grant is not your stereotypical knight on a charger. And no way is Jane a wimpy female in distress. There is, of course, the required happy ending.
The novel satisfactorily ties up a loose end in the author's equally fast paced Diamond Bay. Happy reading everyone.

Jane was kidnapped as a child which gave her haunting nightmares but afterwards her father taught her how to take care of herself so Jane Geer is not all she seems.
Grant became a loner after Vietnam - unable to fit in anywhere but the jungle.
Grant is sent in to get Jane home safely - but he has never meet anyone like Jane - can she get through to him ..........
