2013 Daphne du Maurier Award Finalist

Point, click, die.

When two hikers disappear, their hometown in Maine blames the blinding storms. But the truth is far more sinister. Unaware of the danger, tabloid photographer Jayne Sullivan follows an anonymous tip to find the most reclusive sculptor in the art world. Instead, she finds sexy handyman Reed Kimball—and a small town full of fatal secrets.

Five years ago, Reed buried his homicide detective career along with his wife. But when a hiker is found dead, the local police chief asks Reed for help. Why was a Celtic coin found under the body? And where is the second hiker? Avoiding the media, Reed doesn’t need a murder, a missing person, or a nosey photographer. Then Jayne is attacked, and her courage is his undoing. Reed must risk everything to protect her and find a cunning killer.

Don’t miss this sexy thriller from the author of International Thriller Award nominee She Can Run.

About the Author

Melinda Leigh abandoned her career in banking to raise her kids and never looked back. She started writing as a hobby and became addicted to creating characters and stories. Since then, she has won numerous writing awards for her paranormal romance and romantic-suspense fiction. Her debut novel, She Can Run, was a number one bestseller in Kindle Romantic Suspense, a 2011 Best Book Finalist (The Romance Reviews), and a nominee for the 2012 International Thriller Award for Best First Book. When she isn’t writing, Melinda is an avid martial artist: she holds a second-degree black belt in Kenpo karate and teaches women’s self-defense. She lives in a messy house with her husband, two teenagers, a couple of dogs, and two rescue cats.

More About the Author

Melinda Leigh is a fully recovered banker. A life-long lover of books, she started writing when her youngest child entered first grade as a way to preserve her sanity. in 2007, she joined Romance Writers of America, learned a few things about writing a book, and decided the process was way more fun than analyzing financial statements. It was time to get serious about making her hobby a career.

Melinda's stories have won writing awards including Put Your Heart in a Book, The Marlene Award, Where the Magic Begins and The Gateway to the Best. SHE CAN RUN released in November 2011 and became the #1 Bestseller in Kindle Romantic Suspense. SHE CAN RUN is nominated for a 2012 International Thriller Award for Best First Novel.

Melinda is also an avid martial artist. She holds a 2nd degree black belt in Kenpo Karate, studies Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and teaches women's self-defense. She lives in a messy house in the suburbs with her husband, two teenagers, a couple of dogs and two new rescue cats. With such a pleasant life, she has no explanation for the sometimes dark and disturbing nature of her imagination.

3.0 out of 5 stars More romance than mystery 20 Jan 2013
By Mark Shackelford TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback|Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Not quite what I expected - rather too much "romance" (he gazed into her deep green eyes etc etc) than a murder mystery.
However, ignoring the dreamy gazing, a reasonable suspense story, with likeable characters and something I read in a few hours.
Fine if you want a quick holiday read, but beware if you are not a fan of romance...

5.0 out of 5 stars Thrilling romantic suspense! 29 Aug 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I read and enjoyed Melinda Leigh's first thriller 'She Can Run' so was eagerly awaiting this one. I was not disappointed - it's got a clever, fast-paced plot and it keeps you guessing til the end. The crime is cleverly conceived, as is the way that the author plays off the protagonist Jayne's role as a paparazzo against the wider backdrop of a crime scene investigation. Excellent read, highly recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars Good story, poor narrative 16 Jun 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
What a shame this good story with an interesting and unexpected ending was spoilt by poor narrative and dialogue.
How many times did she wrote that the hairs on her neck shivered or described his muscular arms.
This may be good for teenage girls but not men and adults.

I like this author more and more I read her books. Even the sudden ending and feeling a little unresolved didn't ruin it for me. I will definitely carry on reading her books.
