Not being the most well read person in the world and only recently finding the time and indeed patience to read any form of book, this is an absolute must. I found it very difficult to put down and am already wading through another one of his books. The ending to this book was far from expected and seemed almost visable in the minds eye, you can almost smell the sea air and the dampness of the fog. I thouroughly enjoyed this book. I am now seeking his other books to add to my ever growing collection.

Among the best 5 Sep 2008
Format:Paperback
This was the first Dean Koontz book I read, and it opened my eyes to what modern horror can be like - it doesn't have to be set in creepy graveyards or consist of gore splattered all over the place. In fact 'Midnight' is as much science fiction as horror, though it's Earthbound and set in the present day. The characters are exceedingly well drawn, the plot is compelling and the concept one that really engages. As a writer, Dean Koontz is far above those who churn out pulp fiction. He is a literary writer in the best sense of the word, creating wonderful visual imagery and making his readers feel they are bound up in the storyline. I can't recommend this book highly enough.

An enthralling book, brilliant charaters and a very ominous baddie (couldnt think of another word for it so i used a very unoriginal one). I recommend to anyone. it'll keep you awake untill it's finished with you.A brilliant book to anyone whether they are a fan or someone who is reading Dean Koontz for the first time.
