Manuals for repairs but owner's Handbook for prevention.
Although many new to the model or classic cars may think this is the first book they should buy for the car it is not - the first book to buy is the relevant copy of the owner's (Driver's) Handbook (see below).
The Haynes could be a companion to the owner's Handbook and can be used for repairs and perhaps restoration if used along with other restoration books.
It is repairs rather than servicing based.
Personally I find the Haynes manuals often for many requirements to be neither fish nor fowl in that they are either too simplistic in some areas of tasks and descriptions or they go beyond the technical level of knowledge, competence and tools of many car owners, certainly me.
The Haynes has merit but not as much as most give it.
This issue also covers the Midget 1500 (rubber-bumpered Mk3 with Triumph 1500 engine and different gearbox) so is probably most helpful and useful to those owners.
Free parts lists are available over the internet but also worth considering to buy is the paper reprint of the factory Parts Catalogue, very useful for owners to have literally to hand for not only part numbers but also to see what parts are called and how and where parts go for replacement, repairs and restorations - (Sprite Mk3 and Mk4, Midget Mk2 and Mk3, Parts Catalogue, Feb '77 - Part No AKM 0036, spiral bound)
In addition you can also buy a reprint of the factory Workshop Manual (mentioned in another review here) for Midget Mk1-3 and Sprite Mk2-4
The first book potential and new owners should buy is the relevant owner's (Driver's) Handbook:
