This is a book that does exactly what it says on the cover. But, more importantly, it does it in an amusing and well-written fashion. The narrator's own embarrassing experiences are interspersed with vignettes collected apparently from his friends and acquaintances.
Luckily, I have confined my reading to moments of privacy (hence the title of the review), since I have laughed out loud several times, which could be a little embarrassing on public transport. In short, if you are middle class, and enjoy reading about other people's uncomfortable experiences, I can heartily recommend this book.
