It is a 60 day trial, not a 1 year trial, starting from when you first installed it (IE When the laptop was first turned on). You will need to buy Office 2007 to use office. For a great student price, see software4students.co.uk . They offer (for students) office from £35! It is a great deal. Alternitively, if you have an old office instalation CD (IE Office 2003) you can install that
Have been informed by Samsung Helpline that Microsoft have withdrawn One Year Free Trial Offer and offer a 60 Day Trial of MS Office Professional. Am Presently downloading free Sun Open Office which has been recommended. Thanks Ben for student discount tip--will investigate this if this download does not live up to expectations. Delighted with the N130--might consider increasing ram later--but it is highly effective presently. Brian
I too just got a 60 day trial with this, was a bit disappointed as I'm sure that's not what was advertised! I tried using Open Office first of all but then when I tried to open various Word documents that people had sent me, it wouldn't/couldn't open some of them, others had lost their graphics or original layouts. Am I just being naive with that and any tips? Also, do people recommend the cheap student deal for Office? Even for demanding degree level courses etc? What proof of student I.D. do they ask for? As I am self studying at the moment part-time. Thanks!
